Noor Inayat Khan was a World War II heroine, born on January 2, 1914 in Moscow. She was a woman of Indian and American descent, raised in France. During the war, she joined the Free French Forces and became a radio operator for the British Special Operations Executive (SOE).
She was sent to France as a secret agent, where she worked under the code name "Madeleine". Unfortunately, she was captured by the Nazis in 1943 and tortured without revealing any information. Despite this, she tried to escape several times. Unfortunately, she was executed by the Nazis in September 1944, at the age of 30.
Noor Inayat Khan was posthumously recognized as one of the greatest war heroes of the Second World War, receiving the George Cross, one of Britain's highest honours. Her life is an example of courage and dedication to freedom.
